Fartcoin Breaks Into Top 5 Meme Coins, Overtaking Bonk and Closing In On TRUMP

Solana meme coin Fartcoin (FARTCOIN) has risen 21% over the past 24 hours to a market cap of $1.08 billion, according to CoinGecko, breaking into the top five meme coins by market cap.

In doing so, Fartcoin has surpassed legacy Solana meme coin Bonk (BONK) to become the second largest meme coin on the network. It is now closing in on Official Trump (TRUMP), which is currently the largest meme coin on Solana.

What is Fartcoin?

Fartcoin was birthed by Truth Terminal, an AI agent that gained in popularity due to its edgy humor expressed via its X (formerly known as Twitter) account.

Last year, Truth Terminal received a $50,000 grant in Bitcoin from venture capital giant Marc Andreessen when the agent started theorizing the perfect meme coin—one of which was Fartcoin.

Crypto degens launched Fartcoin on meme coin factory Pump.fun, with the token soaring to a $2.15 billion market cap over three months—before tumbling with the rest of the market amid the unfolding LIBRA scandal and U.S. President Trump’s trade war. 

Since Fartcoin bottomed out at a $217 million market cap in March, it has soared 388.91%—becoming one of the best-performing assets amid treacherous macro market conditions. By comparison, according to CoinGecko, Bitcoin (BTC) has only risen 8.7% over a similar period.

Rival meme coin Bonk has climbed just 3.9% over the past 30 days, according to CoinGecko, leaving room for Fartcoin to surpass it and break into the top five meme coins by market capitalization. Ahead of Fartcoin in the meme coin rankings are Dogecoin (DOGE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Pepe (PEPE), and Official Trump (TRUMP).

Since Trump took power and he started his trade war, his official meme coin has taken some of the biggest hits. For example, when the President announced major global tariffs on Liberation Day, TRUMP tanked 15% while Bitcoin slipped just 5.2%. Over the past 30 days, TRUMP has tumbled by 21.6%.

Now, Fartcoin sits just $700 million away in market cap—an amount that it has added to its market cap in just over a month. Were it to overtake TRUMP, the silly AI-manifested token would become the largest meme coin on Solana.
